Somatic Healing: A Returning home to your natural state which is love ~

Many of us have spent years trying to "think" our way out of our pain, yet our nervous systems remain stuck in patterns of survival. My practice is designed to help you move beyond talk therapy and into the wisdom of the body—where true, lasting change resides. Together we focus on empowering your inner capacity to heal. Healing is a process of returning to one’s own wisdom and natural roots. You carry the healing power within you. Always remember, "you are the medicine".

Havening Techniques® (The Neurobiology of Safety): We use specific, soothing touch to create a delta wave state in the brain. This is a powerful, science-backed way to "de-code" the traumatic memories stored in the amygdala, helping you move from a state of hyper-arousal to deep, physiological calm.

Medical Qigong (The Energetic Flow): Once the nervous system is settled, we use gentle, rhythmic movements and breath to clear stagnant energy. This allows your vital life force (Qi) to flow freely again, restoring your internal balance and strengthening your resilience.

I also draw upon my 20 years of experience teaching somatic practices into our sessions to address your individual needs.

Havening: Clearing the Path (The Neurobiological Foundation)

Trauma and chronic stress create "encoded" pathways in the amygdala—the brain's alarm system—keeping us in a state of high alert.

Through Havening Touch, we generate low-frequency Delta waves in the brain. This specific neurochemical environment signals to the amygdala that the threat is over. It essentially "unlinks" the emotional distress from the memory, chemically altering the receptors in the brain to create a profound sense of biological safety. Havening helps the brain to feel safe. It's like having a warm cozy blanket around your amygdala.

Medical Qigong:

Once Havening has calmed the storm and established safety, Medical Qigong steps in to restore the flow. While Havening works with the neurobiology of the brain, Qigong works with the Qi—the vital life force that moves through your meridians and tissues.

Trauma often causes our energy to become stagnant, "frozen," or depleted. Using gentle movement, directed breath, and focused intention, Medical Qigong coaxes this energy back into a harmonious rhythm.

When we combine these tools, we are treating the whole human being:

  • Havening provides the safety: it stops the "alarm" from ringing in the mind.

  • Medical Qigong provides the vitality: it re-awakens the life force in the body.

  • No. One of the most beautiful aspects of Havening Techniques® is that it can be "content-free." Unlike traditional talk therapy, we do not need to dive deep into the details of your past or relive painful memories.

    Because Havening works directly with the neurobiology of the brain, we only need to briefly access the feeling or the resonance of the event. Once we begin the Havening Touch, we focus on soothing the nervous system and creating safety. This allows the brain to "de-link" the emotional distress without you having to be re-traumatized by the story itself.

  • Havening Touch involves a simple, gentle touch on the arms, palms, and face. This specific touch triggers the production of Delta waves in the brain. These waves send a signal of profound safety to the amygdala (the brain's alarm center), essentially telling it that the "threat" is over. This chemical shift allows the brain to permanently heal the pathway that was causing the distress.

  • It is a bridge between both. Havening is rooted in neuroscience—it is a psychosensory technique based on how our brains process and store encoded trauma. However, in our sessions, we integrate this with the ancient, energetic wisdom of Medical Qigong. This creates a holistic experience that honors your biological nervous system while also nurturing your spirit and vital life force.

  • Absolutely. Somatic healing is deeply effective via video sessions. I will guide you through the "Self-Havening" touch, which is just as powerful as being in the same room. Many clients find that being in their own home—their personal sanctuary—allows them to integrate the healing more deeply and feel even more secure during the process.

  • Not at all. Whether you are a long-time practitioner or have never heard of Qigong, I will lead you through every step. The movements are gentle, rhythmic, and accessible to everybody. Our goal is to find your unique flow and help you return to your own innate wisdom.

Note on Virtual Sessions: While I am based in California, I offer these sessions via a secure video platform. Somatic healing is deeply effective in the comfort of your own home, allowing you to integrate the work in your personal sanctuary.
